Blogging as part of social media – well Duh!

I love that picture. May not be quite right for a blog or is it. So many blogs about blogs not really sure what I can add except to be me. We have a number of blog clients that can’t seem to blog more than once a week – at the most and yet when they post there is a dramatic spike in their visitors – may not be hard since my guess they may be one of a kind blogging on commercial blades – see York Saw Blog
The issue I see with many other blogs – perhaps this one included is – what can I say different or in a different way and yet if you read the statistics from HubSpot posted at MediaPost here blogging “leads social media options”. If you were to stop there you might say yeah okay.
I have a bit of an issue with the study and I know my friends at hubspot will be thrilled a small company like mine taking issue with them but – they only surveyed 167 executives and business owners. Now statistically speaking it might be enough to make some judgements but not with me.
Okay I had my say – the real issue is not with HubSpot or MediaPost it is with most surveys about online activity. I believe doing surveys about online activity is problematic since companies are changing (finally) and users evolve at an increasingly quick rate.
So lets take our own survey – do you find blogging the most useful social media tool?
If not what is?

Blogging is extremely useful as are Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn . . . But how do you define “useful”? They’re all useful in very different ways.
