Marketing with Twitter: Dos and Don’ts

SMX East, the big search marketing conference in New York City, produced a ton of interesting insights on a variety of topics, Twitter among them. After reading Rebecca Kelly’s post: SMX East: Twitter Marketing Tactics, I thought that I’d distill some of the advice into some simple dos and don’ts:
Do
- Focus Long-Term
- Converse
- Have a Goal
- Think About Others
Don’t
- Spam
- Be Overly Self-Promotional
- Be Mechanical
- Auto DM, anyone…
Sure, these are super basic but if you follow this advice I think that businesses will find that Twitter can be a useful marketing tool
